The Weeknd - Trilogy (Album Cover)

For those playing catchup, The Weeknd announced that he is releasing his studio album later this year. Scheduled for November 26, the bundle will include remastered versions of each mixtape.

House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence will be accompanied by three additional new tracks. The album title, Trilogy (fitting name, eh), will be released via Universal Republic Records.

Not very pleased with this move because the first mixtape, House of Balloons, was released nearly two years ago. I also listened to the mixed and mastered version of Wicked Games and quite honestly.. found it to be a bit boring.

Without the basement studio type feel and distorted vocals, The Weeknd’s persona is lacking. His dismal lyrics don’t create the same response from the listener and the rainfall emotion isn’t as raw.

On the side, make sure to click the photo. You’ll be directed to the Canadian singer’s self-directed video for Rolling Stone, which originally appeared off his second tape release, Thursday.
